UNIKE fellows give presentations at the EU-SPRI Early Career Researcher Conferences (ECC) IRCRES in Rome, Italy.

The EU-SPRI Early Career Researcher Conferences (ECC) “Crossing boundaries in scientific knowledge creation and transmission: trends, challenges and policy implications” take place in Rome, from 14 to 16 October 2015. The conference is organised by the IRCRES CNR-Institute of Research on Economic Sustainable Growth (former CERIS-CNR).

UNIKE PhD fellows Tatyana Bajenova and Corina Balaban both present at the conference in the framework of track 1 “Crossing boundaries in Education and research: patterns and geography of change”.

On Wednesday 14 October 2015, Tatyana Bajenova, based at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon in France, presents a paper examining the existing forms of boundaries crossing between spheres of think tanks and universities and determining essential opportunities which this phenomenon could represent for the knowledge production in these organizations. The same day she is also a discussant of a paper of Hila Zahavi “Normative Power Europe – the field of Higher Education”.

On Friday 16 October 2015, Corina Balaban, based at Aarhus University, Denmark presents a paper about the shifting boundaries of the doctorate in the EU, focusing on the figure of the knowledge worker, as conceptualised in policy documents and interviews with the key stakeholders in EU doctoral education. She is also a discussant of a paper given by Mabel Sánchez-Barrioluengoon “The influence of university’s structural configuration on its third mission performance”.
