Tatyana Bajenova, UNIKE PhD fellow based at the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon in France under the research unit Triangle, participated in the 8th Workshop on International Relations (WIRE series). The workshop entitled  "Boundary Organizations in International Affairs" took place 26-27 August 2015 in Brussels, Belgium.

Every WIRE workshop is devoted to a particular topic (this year it was about boundary organizations). The WIRE workshop gives a unique possibility to researchers to receive a specific feedback on their research projects thanks to its unusual format: the number of participants is limited (this year 8 papers were presented), authors send their papers in advance and have possibility to respond to the comments only at the end of discussions.

The program of the event is available here.

During this workshop Tatyana presented a paper titled "EU think tanks as boundary organizations: in search of an organizational identity", which was implemented in the framework of her PhD project “Think tanks and academic entrepreneurs in the knowledge production”, as part of the UNIKE project. The paper addresses the issue of self-identification of think tanks in the European Union and determines the distinguishing features of think tanks in comparison with other structures.
