Pavel Zgaga and Jie Gao represent UNIKE at the CHER conference in Lisbon

UNIKE fellow Jie Gao and Professor Pavel Zgaga have both participated in this year's annual CHER conference at the Lisboa School of Economics and Management.

This year's 28th annual CHER conference took place at the Lisboa School of Economics and Management in Lisboa, Portugal, 7-9 September 2015. Both UNIKE fellow Jie Gao, who is on daily basis affiliated to Aarhus University in Copenhagen, and Professor Pavel Zgaga from Ljubljana University participated. Ljubljana University is one of the six partner universities in UNIKE, and Professor Pavel Zgaga is a supervisor to several of the UNIKE PhD fellows.

In Europe, the CHER conference (Conference of the Consortium of Higher Education Researchers) is the central annual gathering of higher education researchers; usually attended by around 150 participants. Abstracts submitted at the conference can be found here.

Professor Pavel Zgaga presented a paper titled "Gender, Transformation of higher education and the division of social and political power". Pavel was also chairing one of the sessions at the conference.

Jie Gao presented a paper titled "Capture the shifting boundaries: Toward a new conceptual framework for studying cross-border partnerships in higher education". Read more about Jie Gao's PhD research project.
